Diamond Wedding Celebrations
A Time Of Celebrations

This year here at Butterfields we have much to celebrate.
It is the 150th year of our family business (which you will hear more about over the coming weeks) and it is also 60 years since our family patriarch Brian Butterfield walked his lovely bride Doreen down the aisle.
Having known one another all their lives, their romance blossomed officially through Swinton Congregational Church and Youth Club . They married at St Margaret's Parish Church in Swinton when Brian was 21 and Doreen 20. At the time she was working at Denaby Main Industrial Co-op as a Clerk in the offices, Brian was working under the leadership of his father at Butterfields, preparing one day to take over the running of the company.
Not only has their marriage been a true love story, it has been a working partnership too, as they both worked within our family business up to taking their well deserved retirement.
Both Brian and Doreen are still owners and directors of the firm and take a keen interest in the development and progression of the company, striving to ensure the families of South Yorkshire receive the best of care when they lose a loved one and need our professional services.
The happy couple celebrated, along with son’s David and Philip and the rest of the Butterfield clan. They were also delighted to receive a card from their majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla, which takes pride of place on the mantelpiece of their home in Swinton.
On reaching their Diamond Anniversary, we all want to know what is their secret to a happy and contented marriage ….. Brian may jokingly say it’s letting her have the last word, whilst Doreen would say it is ensuring there is compromise, love and laughter every single day.
All the team here at Butterfields send our love and best wishes to them and truly hope to see Brian and Doreen receiving their 65th Anniversary card from the King in 5 years time.
