Funeral Costs & Payments
A recent survey found that the cost of an average funeral in the United Kingdom was over £3,500, most funerals being cremations at an average cost of £3,900 and burials being the most expensive at £4,900.
The cost of a funeral is arrived at by adding together the 2 main elements, which are:-
The funeral directors charges
- The arranging, staffing and facilities available
- The coffin selected
- The transport required (hearse and limousines)
The disbursements or fees paid on the families behalf
- Cemetery fees (grave, cemetery chapel)
- Crematorium fees (cremation and service chapel)
- Church fees (when service in church)
- Minister’s fees (service at crematorium or cemetery chapel)
And other fees if applicable e.g. organist, ashes container, certificate of cremation etc. plus of course, any other items supplied by us or ordered on your behalf.
We are happy to explain the detail of all the fees involved when making the arrangements or at our office.
