There are a wide variety of funeral memorial designs and materials to choose from, these include: Stone of which granite is the most popular right through to hardwood benches. Whether you're looking for a simple plaque or an elaborate memorial headstone our trained staff can assist you with your selection and discuss your funeral or burial plans.

We can also refurbish, repair and add inscriptions to existing memorials. All our work is carried out to the highest standards and along with our trained staff we follow the guidelines and code of practice set by the National Association of Memorial Masons, of which we are accredited members. 

Butterfields are also accredited by the Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Sheffield and other local authorities. We have designed, created and erected many bespoke memorials throughout the region. Examples of these can be seen in all local cemeteries and churchyards. 

To commemorate the start of the first world war, in July 2014, we designed, supplied and erected the Dearne Town War Memorial in the Bolton-on-Dearne Cemetery. Other examples of these can be seen at Wombwell, Thurnscoe and Barnsley Cemeteries.
