Our funeral premises, Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Our history at Wood Street in Swinton, Rotherham, goes back to the late 1800's when John Butterfield helped build the residences, later acquiring them. In the 1970's, these were transformed into our Funeral Home, featuring well-appointed interview rooms, viewing rooms, and a multi-faith Chapel of Rest with peaceful lounges for quiet reflection.
The original 1950's garage and workshops were upgraded to modern mortuary facilities and a memorial workshop. The land acquired in the early 1900's, once home to stables and coach houses, now includes a function room, converted in 2007, suitable for funeral services or receptions.
In 2009, a conversation between David and Brian Butterfield led to the creation of our Memorial Garden, which opened in 2011. This unique facility, part of our Rotherham funeral services, offers a tranquil space for remembrance and features a variety of memorial options. Open daily, it hosts a special December event where families can leave messages on Christmas Trees for charity donations.
Our Kimberworth, Rotherham branch opened in 2011 with arrangement and viewing rooms similar to Swinton. It also displays memorials for families to choose from, with staff available to assist with any inquiries about memorials or funeral plans in Rotherham.
For safety, our premises are equipped with CCTV, ensuring a secure environment.
