Remembrance Day 2023

As our country prepares to pay their respects to the brave men and women who gave their lives in times of war and conflict , we at Butterfields will be wearing our poppies with pride.

Earlier this year our family honoured one of our own - Percy Butterfield who aged 19, lost his life in France serving his King & Country with The East Yorkshire Regiment during the Great War.

Having never before had the opportunity to visit his grave Brian Butterfield along with some of his family travelled to France to honour the life of his Uncle Percy.

This was a very emotional experience for the Butterfield family as we paid our respects and laid flowers and plaques at Percy’s final resting place and Brian wrote a message in the book of remembrance. Our trip was a great comfort to our family.

Our thoughts are with all those families who are remembering a loved one on November the 11th.
