Visiting your loved ones

Deciding whether to visit a loved one in the Chapel of Rest or Viewing Rooms is a personal choice. At CT Butterfields, a trusted funeral directors in Rotherham and Mexborough, we understand that some find comfort in seeing their loved one at rest, while others may choose not to visit, and both decisions are equally respected.

We can arrange private time with a closed coffin for quiet reflection. Families are welcome to place personal items, like photos or mementos, in the room. Our experienced staff will make the visit as comfortable as possible and guide you through the best timing.

For privacy, we use an appointment system, with adjacent private lounges for families to use. If viewing a loved one in a coffin feels too difficult, we can provide an alternative arrangement that resembles a bedside setting, with limitations that we’re happy to discuss.
